The Lab is having 2 ESXi instances and vCenter is running on top of one of the ESXi. Datastore is iSCSI connected to a Windows Server 2019 running also on VMWare Workstation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Recently vCenter has been experiencing some issues with the Datastore and was refusing to initiate with the following error &#8211; <em>[FAILED] Failed to start File System Check on \/dev\/vg_root_0\/lv_root_0<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.it-react.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/grafik-11.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2984\" width=\"840\" height=\"474\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.it-react.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/grafik-11.png 799w, https:\/\/www.it-react.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/grafik-11-300x169.png 300w, https:\/\/www.it-react.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/grafik-11-768x434.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 840px) 100vw, 840px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Step one: Solve the issue<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In order to solve this issue, you can run these commands:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-code\"><code>#\/bin\/sh\n#blkid<\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p>Here is the output of the command, the path that needs to be repaired is underlined.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.it-react.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/grafik-12.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2985\" width=\"839\" height=\"658\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.it-react.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/grafik-12.png 799w, https:\/\/www.it-react.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/grafik-12-300x235.png 300w, https:\/\/www.it-react.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/grafik-12-768x603.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 839px) 100vw, 839px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>To confirm the issue run this command:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-code\"><code><strong>#systemctl status systemd-fsck-root<\/strong><\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.it-react.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/grafik-13.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2986\" width=\"840\" height=\"328\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.it-react.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/grafik-13.png 805w, https:\/\/www.it-react.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/grafik-13-300x117.png 300w, https:\/\/www.it-react.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/grafik-13-768x300.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 840px) 100vw, 840px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>And finally to fix it run the command:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-code\"><code><strong>#<em>fsck -y \/dev\/mapper\/vg_root_0-lv_root_0<\/em><\/strong><\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.it-react.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/grafik-14.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2987\" width=\"838\" height=\"655\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.it-react.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/grafik-14.png 801w, https:\/\/www.it-react.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/grafik-14-300x234.png 300w, https:\/\/www.it-react.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/grafik-14-768x600.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 838px) 100vw, 838px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>After that, reboot vCenter and it should start without any problems.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I am having a VMWare Lab running on VMWare Workstation.
